Aguirre, the

Wrath of God - German (produced in cooperat ion with Mexico and Peru) to the 1972 historical drama, directed by Werner Herzog. The film is based on actual events of the sixte enth century. In 1560, a group of Spanish adventurers sets out to search for the mythical El Dorado. Spaniards descend from the Andes and the Amazon move toward Atlantykowi. Soon the konkwistadorami comes to the struggle for power, which comes out victorious in a frantic half-Lope de Aguirre (Klaus Kinski), leading himself and his subordinates to the slow destruction.
